I’ve recently had the honor of having an article I’ve written being published in one of the most important projects of the SQL Server community IMHO, the MVP Deep Dives II book.

The original MVP Deep Dives book was published in November 2009, you can read more about the original project inthis blog post by Paul Randal, one of the forefathers of this amazing project.

The idea is simple – take a group of SQL Server MVPs, have each one write a short article about a subject he or she are passionate about, and compile all those articles as chapters of a single book. All revenues will be donated to a charity chosen by the authors. This year, Operation Smile was chosen.

The result is a book every DBA should read. No matter if you are a DB Developer, a production DBA or a BI person. There is no other book like it anywhere. Knowing your money will help less fortunate children worldwide, is just another reason to purchase it. The book was launched at the PASS Summit. A few hours after the launch all copies were sold out and an emergency order was issued for express delivery of additional copies to arrive the next day. We also held an author signing session where many authors lined up in a (very) long line to sign their chapters. My wrist hurt for hours after :-)
